In the UK our climate means that some plants, particularly bedding plants need to be treated as annuals as they are not hardy, despite being naturally perennial. Some of these are quite happy being grown over winter in a conservatory or other protective structure. Along with these we have a small selection of plants which are better grown all year round with protection.
